Just me

Blessings to you all!

This pic is from a time when Irma and I went up visiting mountain villages with some government people.
Irma and I get out and about some to get to know persons, places, but more often looking for family members of our kids at Casa de Niños. After some time with a child that comes to us we get more information as the confidence level rises. We have had many profitable trips as far as finding information or papers. Kids come to us "just as they are" and from that point we start working. We work hard to be faithful with the time that God gives us with each child. To us the first and best place for a child to be is home, or with a family member that will open their heart to them. If this cannot happen then we work with the welfare system to free up the child for adoption. These processes though can take years so we come back to our work at Casa de Niños. Using the time that we have to help them open up to God so that he can do the miracle stuff inside them. At Casa de Niños we try to give them a loving environment so that God can do His work.
Hey anyone out there interested in supporting the work that Irma and I do here in Tepic Mexico? If so look for the donation info on the side panel.
Have a wonderful day!

Life is colorful

I love my life here at the Casa even though it is not always colorful. Some days are dark and long. Irma and I traveled to a couple of cities within our state to investigate two of our children. These stories are generally quite dark and gloomy and we even discovered some additional dark issues that the child does not need to know. Life is meant to be colorful and even fun. It is sad to be around many lives here at the Casa that do not have much color in their pasts. God is good though and will fill up a life with much goodness, fun, joy, and love, along with some challenges to help us grow. Blessings to you all and keep praying for us here at the Casa, and the children that God sends here to us.

Here I am

Very recently I took a trip with my wife and many others to an Indian village in the mountains. The reason was political but my motive was more to see with my own eyes the life up in the mountains. We were invited to go with some federal government employees. Irma and I spent 6 hours each way in a small truck with 4 other persons. The mountain roads were non stop curves and half the trip was on dirt roads. I got car sick for the first time in my life. My wife said I looked bad. I felt terrible. That is why I ended up in the back of the pickup. I feel better now thank you. The experience where we went was good though. So I have the choice of what to remember of the trip, the bad part or the good part. I wonder how much in life we loose out on because there is something bad connected with it? How many relationships we abandon because there is something we don't like about that person? Getting out of my comfort area was good for me so yes I will do something like this again because it was good for me. I guess that is what God does in our lives anyways when He allows us to go through something that is not pleasant. He always looks to bring the best out of us.
Have a wonderful day even if it isn't at the moment!

A great treat!

A great thing to eat would be different for us all. Here we see a treat that most Mexicans around here really enjoy to eat. "Duros con cueritos" is what they are called and this shows a common way to eat them. That would be vegetables and pieces of pig skin on a a deep fried flour eatable plate. I personally cannot stomach the pig skin but the rest of it is indeed very good. Sharing a treat with a friend is even better.

Why is it that things to eat or do are better shared with someone you love to be with?
We are made to share. "A sharing machine"  That is what I think anyway. God created or invented LOVE as something that connects his marvelous creation. Sharing just does not make much sense without love. Share something with someone today!

Very good years!

Casa de Niños has been part of my life for 24 years. Years of learning, fun, and growing. God has done a good work in my life causing me to grow here in the midst of children. I have seen many lives blessed by what God has established in this place. This is truly a refuge in their time of great need. Thank you for supporting Irma and I in this work, and I pray that you will continue. Please encourage others and tell them about this wonderful work of God! Blessings and have a wonderful day!
