How many years does love last?

Loving a baby is not very hard. It is a lot of work caring for one. I have seen many parents come to our gates with their older child saying that they want to leave him or her with us. The parent has reached their end and are ready to throw in the towel. Does love have an end? No it doesn't, but if you walk long enough on a wrong road you will feel lost.

Love suffereth long, and is kind; love envieth not; love vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,   doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not its own, is not provoked, taketh not account of evil;   rejoiceth not in unrighteousness, but rejoiceth with the truth;   beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

 Love never faileth...

Lizards and kids!

I have never seen so many different kinds of lizards as there are down here in Mexico. Not all are as cute as this one that was part of some fun for a few boys at the Casa. The lizard was not harmed, but he was used to scare a few girls.
What a beautiful creature, and very fast as the boys had to work together to catch the little guy.

Pray for our boys that they will grow up into wonderful men of God!
Blessings to you and have a great week!

Preparing

Having some nice conversation with my dad in Minnesota and catching a gold finch preparing for the coming colder weather. I miss a snowfall and it is nice to be in Minnesota at the right time to enjoy the snow, then return to Mexico where the weather is much warmer.
It is amazing seeing these birds prepare as it seems for more difficult times. They were flying back and forth for some time filling themselves then it started to snow and they stopped coming to the feeder.
I wish that I had that type of wisdom; knowing and preparing. I do often know that something is coming but have not prepared or done the things that should have been done. God tells us things in his word then shows us those principles in his creation so that we should not miss it.

Sunny Day!

On my trip to Minnesota I was able to prove to myself again that it is always a sunny day. We sometimes get caught up on getting down and out when things don't go as we like. This simple reminder shows me too that God is always good even when it does not appear that way.
I will be in Minnesota for 3 weeks visiting family and out believing God for additional support for the work that Irma and I do at Casa de Ninos. Pray for Irma as she will be at Casa de Ninos holding up the fort, and still taking care of our charming baby.
Blessings to you all and have a wonderful day!

A safe resting place

Irma and I have this adorable little guy in our home. We were asked by the welfare agency to care for him 11 days after he was found abandoned. Too little to be left at the Casa we took him in. This is not the first time we have had a baby on the spur of the moment,. We have a stash of baby things in our home for these "baby calls". Most likely in the next month or so he will be adopted out, so please pray for God's hand to be on this process.

This image here is what he enjoys, and quite honestly we enjoy it to. He is sprawled out on my wife in this picture, but he has spent many a peaceful moments on my chest as well. I really feel God showed me in one of these "peaceful moments" that this is really what God desires with us. He wants us to find that perfect resting place in Him. God wants us to draw close to Him. Rest in Him listening to God's heart, and feeling the warmth of  His presence.

The big Turkey

Yes that is me in the picture but no I am not the big turkey. A turkey was donated to the Casa and Irma and I got in the kitchen to do a big Saturday dinner for the kids. I never have a chance to be in the pictures so here I am and I did continue working after the picture was taken. We invited several of the girls to help out and we had a fun time in the kitchen. It was a new thing for many of the kids. When I carved the turkey I had a few tasting the turkey helpers. We ate our fill before the meal was even served. We had turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, salad, and fruit salad. It was a fun and very tasty meal. God was very good to us that day!

Irma gave us all direction and we got everything ready on time and tasting very good. I did not need a hat because I don't have much hair the girls said. It makes me hungry remembering that day.

Great blessings to you all and have a wonderful week!

Twenty+ years ago!

We were looking through some of those old style pictures with a person that used to be at the Casa. I came across some pictures that I had not seen for some time. This picture would have been just over twenty years ago and the truck that I bought for $500 dollars to drive my personal belongings down to Tepic. Just before I left I picked up a couple of used parts from the junk yard, and actually needed one of those pieces on the trip down to Tepic.
Time flies by as it does not seem like I have been in Tepic for more than 20 years. As I look back from now to the time of that picture so much has happened in those years. God has done much in my life and I like to believe much through my life. I thank God for what he has done in my life and for all the blessings through the years.
Take a look back into your life and thank Him for those great things he has done.

Just Thinking

Just thinking again, well I do that allot actually. I find myself taking a pause many times in the day to ponder something. This morning I had one of those pondering moments as I was reading the word, and thinking about things. I was reading in Ephesians 5 when that thought you see over there hit me. In Ephesians Paul teaching or warning us to stay on track, or not get into things that will mess us up. I think that Paul was seeing this same thought and was moved by the Holy Spirit to record some "inspired thoughts" for a much larger group that what he intended, but Paul responding to a danger that would contaminate the church wrote those words.

Just thinking, but how did we get into this mess? The USA, a country founded on Gods' principles, and filled with markings of a Godly nation, and filled with Godly people. "Godly people" has to be the weak link in that above phrase. We have somehow allowed that "we" in the phrase "In God we trust" to become in question. Can we without a doubt say that we are a Godly nation, or say as a nation,  In God we trust?
I know that I need to start in my own heart and mind keeping my foundations solid and clear. I need to demonstrate to my world that yes their is a God and that Jesus died for mine and your sins. Our Nation, families, and lives are messed up.

"Greater in He that is in me than he that is in the world"

Let that thought rule your life and everything else has to fall to its knees.
Have a wonderful day.

We offer this place of refuge for many children, but it is so sad that our services are needed. Cute on the outside but pain, anger, and confusion on the inside. What we offer these little ones is so important for them. What God restores or adds into these lives only he knows, but restoration occurs. God is good and faithfull. He brings to us those he chooses for His reasons. Irma and I give of our lives as God has directed us to do. Please support our work as our work is extreemly important to them.
God bless and have a wonderful day!

Just thinking

Just thinking!

I like to read the news; seeing what is going on in the world, and it is at times interesting, funny, but for the most part sad. It is sad when I read about so many different places in the USA that are taking God out of whatever; a song, a speech, a place,  on and on goes the list. Just today I was thinking and remembering the account of Jesus being rejected by his people. To me it seems as though we are drawing close to the point of a modern day crucifixion scene. Nowadays it is unthinkable to nail someone to a cross. Of course we would not allow an unthinkable thing like that. Really though what is the difference? Jesus is being rejected and crucified in our modern civilized day and age as the world looks on.

Will God allow another crucifixion?

Looks are deceiving!
Irma and I took a trip to Mexico City with one of the Casa boys and as is true everywhere one will find unique things to eat. On the bus ride home we stopped to eat, and I went to one eating place I saw this tortilla and asked if they had a normal flour tortilla. They said no and I moved on to the next stand but to my dismay they offered the same type of tortilla. I was hungry and saw many people eating this "thing" so I ordered two of them. To my delight they were very tasty as I enjoyed every bite along with my Coke, not seen in the picture but just to set the proper scene it was there.
We find ourselves doing this in many circumstances, making judgments on what we see then what we think about it. This happens unfortunately with relationships. We reject someone because of a negative thing about them that does not appear to me very "right".
We need to look at others with eyes of love. Maybe we were put in their path to be an impact, or maybe more correctly they were put in our path to better our lives. Hey, have a great day!

Joy in the courtyard!
Irma and I attended an event in front of the Governors palace here in Tepic. It was a time of joy, thanksgiving, and proclaiming peace and blessing upon our land and government. There was a good turnout from the churches here in the city. Much joy and music. A good reflection of Jesus to our government.
Blessings and have a wonderful day!

I love you!
Valentine's Day!

On this day we share or give expressions of love. A wonderful thing to do.

I gave these flowers to my wife this day as an expression of my love for her. I as well gave heart shaped lollipops to the kids, as an expression of love.

Love though is something much deeper than an outward expression. True love lies deep within. These flowers will wither in a few days as they have been cut from the roots. True love (real love) does not wither, die, or end as it is connected to something deep within us. Don't confuse love with what is seen. Look for evidence of love connected to a source that sustains the external and will endure the "things" that come in life.
Blessings and have a wonderful day!

Lot’s to do!

We have been quite busy this past January. Fixing up our  "blessing" of a donated house, having a quinceaƱera, working with the welfare agencies in our state, hosting a visiting church from town, spending time with the kids, etc. Much to do and always children that need some time. Irma and I spent much time fixing up our home. We needed to get it to the point where we could live there. We have been living at the Casa for over a year. A wonderful blessing. We are now at our home after much, much work, but it was worth it. We had such a wonderful time blessing this young girl from the Casa as she reached her 15th birthday. She was so blessed and we all had allot of fun.
